Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital
BNVCF is proud to support Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital. BNVCF is supporting the cost of personnel and equipment needed to find ways to detect a predisposition to cancer in support of our mission of “Making a Difference Through Early Detection.”
As the result of a generous grant from Bobbie Nick Voss Charitable Funds, colorectal cancer awareness is increasing in our area through a community educator for colorectal cancer at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital. This educator has contacted members of our community to set up presentations, has offered education at fairs and events, and has set up colorectal cancer awareness displays. Over a thousand people have already been offered information on colorectal cancer and many more events are planned.
In addition to educating the public, the community educator has been in contact with the American Cancer Society, the Colon Cancer Coalition, and the Colon Cancer Alliance to keep up to date on current trends and information. She has also become involved with the Milwaukee Regional Cancer Care Network which is a collaborative group from many area organizations including Gilda’s Club, American Cancer Society, Wisconsin Division of Public Health, Center for Urban Population Health, Wisconsin Well Woman Program, National Cancer Institute, and area hospital organizations
that are focusing on increasing the availability of colorectal screenings to underserved populations and increasing awareness for all.
